The PRAXIS II Educational Leadership: Administration and Supervision Exam is taken by candidates holding masters degrees who are interested in supervisory or administrative educational employment. The exam is composed of 120 multiple choice questions. Candidates have two hours to complete the exam.
The Determining Educational Needs section of the exam covers conflict resolution and consensus; identification of student needs; student assessment; research interpretation; decision making; perspectives on education; and the needs of unique student populations; the impact of race, ethnicity and gender; community needs; and student expectations at various grade levels.
The Curriculum Design and Instructional Improvement section of the exam covers curriculum design, classroom instruction, assessment, student achievements, teaching strategies, team teaching, individualized instruction, modifying materials and instruction, and concepts and theories of learning.
The Development of Staff and Program Evaluation section covers staff development and evaluation, staff achievement indicators, staff relationships, development activities, and staff assessment.
The School Management section of the exam covers specialized services and programs, workforce selection, placement, making management decisions, purposes of various governmental agencies, student government, the business of school management, and legally mandated management procedures.
The Individual and Group Leadership Skills section of the exam covers problem solving, nurturing a positive environment, levels of communication, school and community relationships, and group dynamics.
