The PRAXIS II Physical Science: Pedagogy Exam is taken by candidates who are interested in teaching middle and secondary school physical science. The exam is composed of a multipart essay question. Candidates have one hour to complete the exam.
Candidates will be provided a description of a physics or chemistry unit taught in a secondary level school. The methods, strategies, and objectives chosen must be directly connected to the teaching unit outlined in the written description of the concept.
The portion of the exam targeting the development of a follow-up lesson is worth 25% of the total score. The assessment section is worth 25% of the overall score. The instructional strategies section is worth half of the total score.
