The PRAXIS II Social Studies: Interpretation of Materials Exam is taken by candidates interested in teaching secondary level social studies to students. The essay exam covers economics, geography, civics, government, world history, and American history.
The exam questions are equally weighted. Candidates are given social studies materials (to include document excerpts, maps, cartoons, tables, quotations, and graphs) to read, interpret and use as a source to create a response.
Exam questions ask for a comparison of American life to that of life in Africa, Asia, Latin America or Oceania.
